# Payment links

> A shareable page that takes a payment, with nothing to deploy.

A payment link is a URL you can put anywhere: a post, a DM, an email footer, a
button in your product. It opens the same hosted page a checkout session does,
and every payment through it arrives attached to a customer.

<Frame caption="The link is the page. There is nothing to deploy">

## Creating a link

```bash theme={null}
curl -X POST "https://api.reclack.com/v1/payment-links" \
  -H "Api-Key: $RECLACK_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "name": "Premium Research Access",
    "type": "fixed",
    "price_id": "price_7Fh2PqX9",
    "collect_email": true,
    "after_completion": "message",
    "confirmation_message": "Thanks. Your access is live."
  }'
```

```json Response theme={null}
{
  "data": {
    "id": "plink_8Qd3ZkR2",
    "name": "Premium Research Access",
    "url": "https://pay.reclack.com/plink_8Qd3ZkR2",
    "status": "active",
    "type": "fixed",
    "created_at": "2026-10-18T22:07:41Z"
  }
}
```

## Two shapes

<Tabs>
  <Tab title="Fixed price">
    You set the amount. The payer sees it and pays it.

    ```json theme={null}
    {
      "name": "Premium Research Access",
      "type": "fixed",
      "price_id": "price_7Fh2PqX9"
    }
    ```
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Payer chooses">
    The payer names the figure, inside a range you set. Useful for tips,
    top-ups and donations.

    ```json theme={null}
    {
      "name": "Support the project",
      "type": "custom_amount",
      "min_amount": "5.00",
      "max_amount": "500.00",
      "preset_amount": "25.00",
      "network": "base"
    }
    ```
  </Tab>
</Tabs>

A link can also sell a recurring price. Share it once and it turns into a
standing plan, with the same approval and collection behaviour as any other
subscription.

## What to collect

Nothing is collected by default. Turn on only what you need.

| Field | Effect |
| - | - |
| `collect_email` | Asks for an email. Useful for receipts your customer will look for later. |
| `collect_name` | Asks for a name. Shown on the receipt. |
| `collect_phone`, `collect_address` | Asks for those. Leave off unless you have a reason. |
| `max_payments` | Stops accepting payments after this many. |

Even a link that asks for nothing still records the customer, matched on the
wallet that paid.

## After the payment

```json theme={null}
{
  "after_completion": "redirect",
  "redirect_url": "https://acme.dev/thanks"
}
```

| `after_completion` | What happens |
| - | - |
| `message` | Reclack shows its confirmation page, with your `confirmation_message`. |
| `redirect` | The payer is sent to your `redirect_url`. |

## Closing a link

Deactivate rather than delete. Closing a link keeps every payment it has ever
taken, and your reporting for last quarter should not depend on a link you
still have live.

```bash theme={null}
curl -X PATCH "https://api.reclack.com/v1/payment-links/plink_8Qd3ZkR2" \
  -H "Api-Key: $RECLACK_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{ "status": "inactive" }'
```

Full parameters are in the [payment links reference](/api-reference/payment-links/create).
